Mickey Cuomo

We called our neighborhood South Brooklyn. Today, it is has a bunch of names. Maybe back then it was because it was the turf of the South Brooklyn Boys (SBB), the famous street gang. Maybe it was the geography-- but to us it was NOT Park Slope, Carroll Gardens or Red Hook. It was NOT Flatbush or Boerum Park... it was South Brooklyn. Flatbush Ave to 9th Street and from 3rd Ave to 6th. That was our home town.
